STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART:
WRITING YOUR LEGACY LETTER...

Saturday, March 6th ~ 1:00 - 3:30 PM ~ $35.
What is the legacy you
hope to leave behind? If you feel it's more than material possessions and
wealth, this workshop is for you. Documenting your wisdom, values and hopes for
the future is a centuries-old tradition. No matter your age or life
circumstances, any time is a good time to put your heart down on paper.
Join Personal Historians Kristi Woodworth and
Jennifer Sauers of Beyond the Trees as they share a brief history and overview of Legacy Letters
(also known as Ethical Wills), show you samples, and guide you with
instruction, exercises and prompts. By the end of the workshop, you will have
created a first draft of your own Legacy Letter, for those you love and for
future generations. Bring (optional): a photo of family or friends who will be
the potential recipients of your Legacy Letter.

WRITING PROMPT
|
|
February Days ~ by May Sarton Who could tire of the long shadows, The long shadows of the trees on snow? Sometimes I stand at the kitchen window For a timeless time in a long daze Before these reflected perpendiculars, Noting how the light has changed, How tender it is now in February When the shadows are blue not black. The crimson cyclamen has opened wide, A bower of petals drunk on the light, And in the snow-bright ordered house I am drowsy as a turtle in winter, Living on light and shadow And their changes.
It seems to have been a particularly gray winter this year which sometimes leaves us feeling the urge to do nothing. Sometimes it takes extra effort to write about it, but it's worth it.
How do you feel about February?
Did you keep your January writing appointments? Try three more this month. You and your voice deserve it.
Consider attending our FREE Fine Arts Sampler for some inspiration. (see above)
