Three years ago, the St. Croix Valley Foundation (SCVF) selected LAYSB to participate in a once in-a-life-time challenge initiative called Partners for the Future. SCVF pledged to match, dollar for dollar, funds raised by the selected nonprofit organizations which were then invested in a permanent fund at the Foundation. LAYSB was honored to be chosen for this initiative and have achieved their campaign goal of $30,000 cash and pledges with a matched $30,000 from SCVF! Congratulations, YSB

Brown Bag Lunch Series Installment #2 on Tuesday, November 10th
 
     Join us for the third installment in our Brown Bag Lunch Series presented by Landmark Insurance Services. Tuesday's scheduled topic "Is a Consumer Directed Health Plan Right For Your Company?" will be held at the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce office from 12p-1p. Bring a lunch and eat while you learn!
     An additional reminder that last week's topic: "Human Resources: Asking Employees About Their Health" was rescheduled for Tuesday, Novemer 17th at the Chamber Office from 12p-1p.

"Come see our newly remodeled showroom and network with other chamber members.  Haley Comfort Systems has another new name: Fireside Hearth and Home by Haley on our fireplace side and Haley Comfort Systems on our heating and air conditioning side.  Come in and meet our staff! We will provide coffee, juice and some nice warm breakfast.  As well as a nice warm place to meet. See you there!"
 

Take a "Walk on the Wild Side" with the Wildlife Science Center!

Join the Wildlife Science Center for a fun and inspirational evening with Don Shelby, winner of all five of the nation's top journalism awards, on Saturday, November 14 from 5:30p-9p at Running Aces Harness Park in Columbus, MN. There will be a silent auction, Dinner and Wine and a special program put on by the Wildlife Science Center. Tickets are $125/person or $900/table of 8.  All proceeds support the Wildlife Science Center of Forest Lake.

 The Chamber is looking for businesses interested in being a "Refreshment Host" for 2010. Hosting is $35 for one month and this covers coffee, our culligan water, pop and additional refreshment items. Your business and logo are then proudly displayed in two locations within the  Chamber Office as well as in our monthly newsletter.  Join Our "Chamber Idol" Task Force!
 "Chamber Idol" is a new event sponsored by the FLACC.  This event will take the place of the chamber's Casino Night which was always on the first Friday in February.  The chamber is looking for volunteers to help plan and implement this exciting community event.  Please contact the chamber for more information; we would like to get a task force put together ASAP.
