Today the Senate is considering education reform, and we need your help NOW to make sure that a comprehensive, enumerated anti-bullying policy to make our nation's schools safe for all students is included!
Senator Casey, the lead sponsor of the Safe Schools Improvement Act in the Senate, has filed an amendment to have an enumerated policy incorporated into the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.
Research demonstrates that enumerated policies make a difference in the lives of students, alleviating the pain and suffering that bullying causes for far too many youth. Enumerated policies have widespread support from a wide range of education, youth development, disability rights, and human and civil rights organizations.
Senator Richard Blumenthal is a member of the Education Committee. Please call Senator Blumenthal right now! It's imperative that he hears from us before the amendment comes up this afternoon. Let him know that effective protections for at-risk youth have YOUR support.
