Featured Article: Meet Brian Sweatt!
About Brian: Brian is currently the school administrator at Lighthouse
Christian School and has been at LCS for 7 years. Before LCS, Brian
was a football coach, athletic director and science teacher in Macon,
Georgia for nine years. He has been married to Barbara for 13 years.
Barbara serves alongside Brian at LCS as the office manager and
administrative assistant. Brian and Barbara love young people and
helping them find and fulfill the destiny God has uniquely created each
of them to accomplish for His kingdom. They have two children together, Ali (9) and Kobe (7). The Sweatts
enjoy all types of water activities including tubing, skiing, swimming
and visiting water parks across the Southeast. Brian enjoys collecting
sports autographs and cards and Barbara enjoys reading books and
watching HGTV. Much of their lives are centered around Lighthouse and
the ministry God has given them there. One tremendous blessing is
having the entire family together at Lighthouse every day. The impact
those at Lighthouse have made on the lives of Ali and Kobe has been
priceless. Their school teachers, Awana leaders, and 9:00am Sunday teachers have had a tremendous impact on Ali and Kobe. One of the greatest moments
in the lives of the Sweatt family this past year was Kobe accepting
Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. What he enjoys about leading a life group: "The opportunity to meet
people at a deeper, more significant level, and to be able to safely
share your heart and areas of need in an environment of love and caring." Encouragement for other life group leaders: "Second Timothy 3:14 reads, "But you must continue in the things which you
have learned and been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned
them." To keep being faithful, love others and invest into the lives
of those God has led you during this season of life. Seeing lives
change from the continued care and sharing of God's truth is
incredible."
Favorite Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know
the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace
and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." |

DWELL Conference: Next Steps
We've learned about the importance of reaching our city with the gospel... So now what? Here are a few ideas for what to do next:
- Engage in Kingdom prayer for Antioch.
- Support our city-- If you live in Antioch, shop and dine in Antioch, when possible, rather than driving out to nearby cities.
- Reach
out to your neighbors. Invite them over for dinner, block parties,
game or movie nights, etc. Remember three strand evangelism: build
relationships with them, introduce them to the community of believers,
and share the gospel with them.
- As a life group, partner with one of our key stakeholders and serve the community once a month.
Something
to remember: Reaching out to our community will be messy,
inconvenient, and difficult at times, but it will be worth it!
As you work to reach out to our city, please let us know how it goes! |

Life Group Database
It's time to update our life group database! Maintaining an accurate database will help us keep track of each life group's growth
(looking towards multiplication), determine how many people from our
fellowship are currently part of a life group, and connect new people
with a group. Within the next week, you should be receiving an email to update your life group information. Please watch for this email and take
the time to carefully update your group's information to make our database
as accurate as possible. Thank you!

Vision
Vision: We believe that God's vision for the life group ministry here at LCF is to spread the gospel in the greater Nashville area. Strategy: In order to see this vision become reality, life groups must reach out to their surrounding communities. As a result of reaching out, life groups will grow and multiply. Our goal is to go from the current total of 21 life groups to a total of 40 life groups in 2010. Action Steps: How will your group help make this vision a reality? You need a plan! To develop your group's plan: - Each life group leader should discuss the vision and strategy with
their life group members and decide on specific action steps they will
take as a group to accomplish the goal.
- Then, each member of the group should plan specific action steps for himself or herself to help the group accomplish the goal.
Some examples of action steps are hosting a neighborhood block party, inviting people in your neighborhood to a men's or women's movie or game night, having dinner with your neighbors, etc. Don't forget to make this discussion a priority in your life group meeting! |
