Trail Master's Message
Greetings from GSAT and Headwaters Trails!
You are probably aware of the ambitious goals we have for the trail system, because you at some time have expressed your support / interest in the project. We felt that an occasional newsletter would be a good way to keep you informed. We hope that you find it interesting, useful, and helpful.
As we head into Wear Orange in the Woods season, we want to remind everyone that it is time to be safe, while enjoying the breathtaking vistas we are fortunate enough to have here in the Catskills.
 | | Bailey, wearing her stylish orange vest, is ready to head out onto the trails. |
What comes after orange, but white?
We look forward to welcoming cross-country skiers, snow shoers and snowmobilers to enjoy our trails. That said, we encourage everyone to exercise trail courtesy and respect other users.
The Greater Stamford Area Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Headwaters Trails has the newest and latest Delaware County Snowmobile Trail maps available for sale. If you are interested in purchasing a copy, please contact GSACC.
We also need to take a moment to thank all of you that joined us for the Lark in the Park events earlier in the month. Thank you for coming out and sharing your enthusiasm with us. We look forward to seeing you out on the trails in the coming months!
What's next? We are in the process of working with sign makers to construct and install trailhead signs on the Bald Mountain Recreation Area. We are also working with a local web developer to bring you a dynamic and informative website. (In the meantime, we ask that you keep up with us by "liking" us on Facebook.) We anticipate that we will be able to have maps available on the website, using data collected and manipulated by the Catskill Watershed Corporation, CMS Internet Solutions, Inc., Delaware County Planning Department and the Schoharie County Planning Department.
Please visit us at our world headquarters at the Stamford Railroad Station. We are there due to the graciousness of the Catskill Revitalization Corporation / Catskill Scenic Trail, O'Connor Foundation, Robinson-Broadhurst Foundation and Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council, Inc. We are there by chance or appointment and will be open on specific weekends throughout the winter.
We will send out periodic updates on trail activities and events, as well as progress reports on the project. If you do not want to receive these updates at any time, feel free to unsubscribe at the top of this e-mail. And if you like it, please pass this newsletter on to anyone else that you may think would be interested. Happy trails,
Doug HT Volunteer Trail Master
