Notable Quote
"I thoroughly enjoyed working with the patients at DNORH. Without exception I found them to be very grateful for my efforts and very willing to work hard. Families were ever present and exceedingly important to the whole rehab process. They would often watch what I would do with their loved one then try to emulate it when I wasn't available. The dedication of the family unit, the willingness of the patient to be independently responsible for their own healing, were qualities that I wish I could import on a large scale to our country."

The Net Connection
June 2012 |
Dear Friends,
If you take a second look at the HVO banner at the top of the page, you will notice we have changed our tag line to "Transforming Lives through Education." In honor of our 25th anniversary year, we have used a special logo that focused on the transforming aspects of volunteer service. This language really resonated with people, so we decided to incorporate it in our tag line as we move forward from our anniversary year.
Though the 25th celebrations may be winding down, we are still focused on the work of transforming lives - those of our colleagues and patients abroad, and those of the volunteers and their supporters. We are also continuing our focus on long-term organizational sustainability with our Ambassador-at-Large recurring gift program and the 25th Anniversary Silver Fund - both aimed at ensuring HVO's capacity to improve global health and transform lives in the coming years.
Please consider making a gift as we embark on our next 25 years. Your support is essential to our transformational work.
Thank you,
Nancy
