| City of Roseville Fireworks Celebration Cancelled
For 12 years we have been able to provide the residents a spectacular Fireworks Celebration that included many family activities. With the turn in the economy taking its toll on local units of government the Mayor and Council had to make the hard decision to cancel this year's fireworks scheduled for June 19th. For the past several years administration has asked for donations from businesses to sponsor this event, which assisted with the financial aspect of putting on such a large venue. With the community pulling together we raised enough funds to host a fireworks celebration. We have seen a slow decline in donations over the past couple of years due to businesses finding it difficult to make donations and factoring in the City's current financial position it was decided that cancelling this year's event would be best. For any residents or business owners that want to see the fireworks back on for 2011 please submit your name and contact information to ykrellwitz@roseville-mi.gov or send a letter to City Manager's Office, 29777 Gratiot, Roseville, MI 48066. A committee will be created of volunteers to spear head ideas on how to make this possible and execute those ideas. | Return to Top |

Clovers Collision & Mechanical Repair helps Eastpointe Residents
12 Napa AutoCare repair shops donate $12,000 worth of auto repair to fix Mothers vehicles this Mother's Day. Twelve local Napa AutoCare Repair Centers announced today that, combined, they will be donating $12,000 in auto repairs for moms this Mother's Day. Each of the repair centers will be taking nominations and twelve lucky moms' will be chosen to receive up to $1,000 in free auto repairs in celebration of Mother's Day this year.
This program was designed for one reason: To help a mom have a dependable vehicle. As one member states, "With the economic climate in our area we have seen customers unable to repair their vehicles to make them safe and roadworthy. And to see a mom who is working to raise her kids and provide food on the table by working one, and sometimes two jobs, or maybe has no job at all...well, that hits a soft spot with all of our auto repair centers." He continues, "So we got together as a group and asked how we could make a difference and help the community? It was a resounding agreement to help moms that need a dependable vehicle. And so we came up with Project AutoCare. We are hoping to make a difference this Mother's Day."
The program was simple. Anyone who wants to nominate a mom had to go to a participating Napa AutoCare Repair Center or Napa Parts store and pick up an application. Applications had to be filled out and either drop it off or mail it back for receipt no later than April 26th. On May 3rd each of the 12 Napa AutoCare Repair Centers announces a lucky mom and arrange a time to begin work on her vehicle. The goal was to get as many people involved as possible so we could give all the moms that need help with their vehicle a chance to be chosen.
The Closest participating AutoCare Center was
Eastpointe-Roseville Chamber Member: Clovers Collision & Mechanical Repair 17285 Stephens Drive, Eastpointe, MI 48021 The winners from Clovers Collision and Mechanical Repair
were
Rhonda Selbmann, her two sons and Rhonda's mother Marilyn Selbmann
