Sabal minor
Provides interest to a damp, shaded place. Provide it with plenty of water during establishment; afterwards it's hardy through droughts although the tips of the leaves may turn brown. Dwarf palmetto is a good accent plant for moist areas and will tolerate poor drainage. It is the most cold-tolerant Sabal.

Landscaping  is an investment.  Creating a drought tolerant, low impact, sustainable environment for your property.  Increases the value, properly done the landscape is little to no maintainence reducing costs and impact on the enviroment.

  • Think about what you want and how you will use your landscape.
  • Don't limit to only plants and trees; a fence, a patio, water feature, or other outdoor element.
  • Make a realistic budget.
  • Think sustainable,  reduce turf areas, use native plants to reduce irrigation and the use of pesticides.
  • Look at books and magazines for ideas. Start a file of plants, trees, fences, etc., what you like--or dislike--This will help you communicate what you want to achieve-or avoid.
