PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NOTE | |
Dear Members,
As winter wanes and the New Year begins, it seems like an opportune time to update you about the "behind the scenes" workings of the MASWA Board and various committees. These volunteers are committed to see that the mission and vision of the organization is upheld. Where else for a mere $20 annual fee, can you receive a monthly newsletter, network with industry experts, hear speakers of the highest caliber (Walter Mondale, for cryin' out loud!), receive continuing education units, tour specialty facilities, stay informed about the latest legislative changes and sample delicious treats? Add to that the outstanding Spring and Fall Conferences and you have an association membership brimming with immense value!
All of these member benefits are made possible by people who, in addition to their full time jobs, find time to volunteer on behalf of MASWA. To all of you, I say Thank you!!
In addition, as members, we want you to know that your feedback is valuable. In part because you have vocalized your frustrations, a task force has been created to look at a revision of the website format. Our goal is to improve functionality and the "user friendliness" of the site, thus better serving the needs of the membership and its volunteers. For the time being, the PDF membership renewal document can be downloaded on the website and either mailed to MASWA, P.O. Box 26630, Minneapolis, MN 55426 or you can bring it to the next membership meeting on Thursday, February 23rd.
An unknown author said "Good Company on the road is the shortest cut". Good company can be found at MASWA - join us for 2012!
