PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NOTE

Susan GreenHard to believe, the holidays are behind us and the promise of a New Year lies ahead.  What will 2011 bring for you?  What promises have you made to yourself?  At MASWA, our resolutions are the same this year as they have been since the organizations inception more than three decades ago.  As a Board, we resolve to serve our membership to the best of our abilities by providing educational opportunities, support and a sense of connectedness, thereby improving services and advocacy for older adults we care for.

My best to each of you as you embark on this new chapter - the year, 2011.  May you prosper and may your lives be filled with peace, purpose and love.

2011 MEETING LOCATIONS

Interested in sponsoring a 2011 MASWA meeting? It is a perfect way to introduce your business to the MASWA members!  Plus, the meeting sponsor receives space in the MASWA newsletter to share information about their company!!  The program committee will schedule a host site (i.e. library or community center) and you -the sponsor would pay for the facility cost and snack/drink.  Another option is to have a joint meeting sponsorship with a second agency/facility and cut the cost in half.  For more information contact William Huseonica at [email protected] or Kay Johnson at [email protected].

SEEKING BOARD MEMBERS

MAWSA currently has three open board positions for 2011-2013. The positions are Program Chair, Nominating committee and Education. These positions would begin either in June, 2011 or December, 2011 depending on the position.  Terms are in effect for 2 years.  Find out more about these openings at the January meeting or contact Kristin Kopp with At Home Solutions at 952-292-5801.
