| PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NOTE | |
And so MASWA begins a new chapter. June ushers in the first meeting with a meeting with a new Board of Directors. Although many of the members have served in years past and continue to remain active on the Board, several new members have joined us as well. We welcome Maura Albrecht, Chrysauana Buan, Gretchen Scheffel, Sherry Vandre and Tom Nenovich. We look forward to the fresh new ideas and insights that they will bring. To the best of our abilities, the Board will continue its work on behalf of the membership. Our goal is that MASWA would continue to grow as a vital and relevant organization, empowering, educating and supporting its members in effort to provide the best possible care and services for our seniors.
Thanks to Loretta Stinson for her leadership over the past year. I look forward to taking over the reigns, but following in her footsteps will be no easy task! Loretta will remain as Past President, but meetings will likely never be the sameJ I would also like to thank those Board Members who are stepping down after volunteering their service for, in some cases, many years. Marti Briest and Diane Maurer have served on the Members At Large Committee, planning and organizing beautiful Spring Luncheons. Ben Musburger has served as the Communications guru and is responsible for the move to a 'greener' organization. Georgia Lane was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the Community Outreach position. Marlene Panek has been essential to the growth of MASWA as a result of her creative ideas as Membership Chair. Thank you all!
Susan Green

| 2010 SPRING LUNCHEON | |
On May 20th, we enjoyed another spectacular day for our annual meeting and Spring Luncheon at The Reserve in Plymouth. Attendance was the largest ever, with 153 people registered. Vendors enjoyed the new layout and a game of sponsor bingo which encouraged all attendees to visit the vendor tables. Molly Cox and Jim Robinson gave a presentation that received an overwhelmingly positive response. Some of the evaluations completed by attendees indicated that they were very pleased to enjoy an afternoon of networking, good food and laughter! Who knew that people in the Senior Industry could be so funny? Thanks to the Members At Large Committee (Diane Maurer, Marti Briest and Susan Green) for pulling off a great event!
