PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY NOTE

Happy New Year to my fellow MASWA members!

With 2010 upon us, it is time for resolutions.  I find that resolutions can take many forms, but all for the betterment of ourselves, our families, or our communities.  This year, I resolve to eat better, exercise more and spend quality time with my family.  I also resolve to help increase awareness of senior issues, work to increase the quality of care, and make the senior community a safe environment.  I plan to do that by attending monthly MASWA meetings, networking with others there to find out where help is needed and listening to the high quality speakers brought in each month.

There is also an opportunity to increase our MASWA community to include the St. Paul Senior Workers.  We are planning to work closely with them to provide quality programming and joint public policy initiatives.  Also, we will be working for a terrific Fall Aging Conference in October with the St. Paul Senior Workers Association.

I hope you will all join me in resolving to make our senior's lives a better place by bettering ourselves.  I thank you for making MASWA a great place to be and committing to it in 2010 to make our organization even better.

Loretta Stinson
President
