Nottingham Women Launch Caring Business Network

Vital Women, a new international network for female professionals and enterprise leaders launches in Nottingham on January 31st.

Karen Oehme, founder of Women's Chapters, the Business Book Club and Jeanne Booth, The Good Work Guide and founder of Nottingham's first network for businesswomen, have come together to launch Vital Women.

Jeanne Booth  says,

'Business as usual is not an option now. People want brands, products and services they can believe in and they want genuine caring, connected organisations. Corporate responsibility was trending before the world economic crisis and given the lessons we've learnt about profit for profit's sake, successful business will not just be about doing well, but about doing good.  The purpose of Vital Women is to help women lead the way to prosperity.'

It doesn't matter if you are running your own small businessor working in a charity, social enterprise or big corporation, Vital Women is for women who want to build successful enterprises and make the world a better place.  It will provide learning and personal development opportunities bringing like-hearted women together to network and collaborate on initiatives, and provide a supportive forum encouraging women to ensure their own well-being.

Karen Oehme says,

'Caring, affection and appreciation are the glue that hold families, businesses and societies together and women can be generous with these things themselves but also need to look after their own well-being. As they say on the aeroplanes, you have to put on your own oxygen mask before you can help others.'

The launch event, Learn to Prosper, headlines two local businesswomen, Valerie Plummer and Jackie Dunn, to share their hard-won wisdom from the good and bad moments in their journies to prosperity. Karen Oehme explains the story behind the launch of Vital Women and Jeanne Booth provides top tips for growing prosperity in 2012.

The launch of Vital Women is 7.15-10pm January 31st at the Poppy and Pint, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 5DX.   Advance tickets include buffet and glass of wine 25.
