Year End 2010
Welcome to the Year End 2010 edition of The PASSUR® Pulse™ Report, an eNewsletter created exclusively for the Airport Finance community.

This month, we're talking expansion. We've added five new airports in recent months, with more on the way -- see the latest additions below. One of them, Fort Lauderdale, spoke with us about why they chose PASSUR. You'll see that interview in this month's issue. We also give you a refresher on the top five ways to avoid leaving revenue on the table.

As a reminder, PASSUR Pulse™ software allows a simple, efficient means of tracking, capturing, and auditing all landing fee revenue. It will maximize your revenue stream and spread it equitably by means of accurate and detailed activity reports accessible on the Web.

Thanks for reading. As always, if you have ideas or questions, please send them over to me, Ron Dunsky, at rondunsky@passur.com.
PASSUR Welcomes Five New Airports to the Pulse Community
It's been a busy fall for us here at PASSUR as we've added five new airports to the Pulse community. Please welcome them all.
  1. Lexington, Kentucky signed up on September 9

  2. Salt Lake City joined the community on September 23

  3. Baltimore/Washington announced it would join on September 27

  4. Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International and ...

  5. Colorado Springs are our newest additions

We now have 40 airports using PASSUR Pulse and that's good for everyone. The more airports that sign up, the more information we can share with each other to help improve the product we offer.

To learn more about using PASSUR Pulse at your airport, contact Evan Danto at evan.j.danto@passur.com.

Talking with PASSUR's Newest Customer, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International
As mentioned above, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is one of the newest members of the PASSUR Pulse community. We spoke with Helena James-Rendleman, Director of Finance at the airport, to learn more about why Fort Lauderdale chose PASSUR Landing Fee Management.

PASSUR: Why did you sign up for PASSUR Landing Fee FLL LogoManagement?

FLL: We were looking for an easy way to verify the landing fees that we collect based on self-reporting by the airlines that land at FLL.

PASSUR: What do you plan to do with the system?

FLL: Currently we are just using the system for auditing purposes, but are hoping to gain significant efficiencies by using PASSUR for other purposes, such as the automatic billing of landing fees.

PASSUR: How are things going so far?

FLL: Things are going great!  The application is really user-friendly and the data easy to access.  The training provided by PASSUR was very helpful.

Tip: Top Five Ways to Avoid Leaving Revenue on the Table
If your airport is using PASSUR Landing Fee Management, then you've already made big steps toward capturing all the revenue that you've earned. But there are a few areas that are often overlooked, and we want to make sure that you don't miss out. Here are the top five ways airports leave revenue on the table.
  1. Charter Activity - It's easy to overlook charters since they aren't necessarily regular operators at your airport, but all this information is collected for you to use for billing.

  2. Cargo Flights - It's unlikely you ever overlook your large cargo operators, but with smaller airlines operating sub-service, they do get passed over from time to time.

  3. Regional Airlines - Though you might be used to having the same regional airlines operating at your airport, mainline carriers do sometimes substitute other regionals in their place.

  4. Diversions and Non-Scheduled Activity - Like charters, these tend to be overlooked because of how infrequently they operate.

  5. RON fees - Those fees for overnight stays do sometimes get overlooked, but they shouldn't. Let us help you capture them.
