Each year, thousands of people in the United States are injured and killed in electrical accidents and fires in and around the home.
Education is a critical tool in preventing electrical fires, injuries, and fatalities in the home, school, and workplace. To that end, ESFI has launched several dynamic new learning tools and educational resources during National Electrical Safety Month this year.

| ESFI UNVEILS NEW ONLINE KIDS' CORNER |
 ESFI is pleased to announce the launch of the Kids' Corner, a brand new interactive Web site developed to help teachers and parents explain electrical safety to children. This online resource is packed with games, videos, and interactive modules designed to engage and entertain children as they learn about the dangers of electricity. In addition, the Kids' Corner features dynamic learning tools and printable teaching guides - including safety tips and experiments that teachers can introduce in a classroom setting. | ESFI AND SCHOLASTIC BRING SAFETY TOOLS TO SCHOOL |
 To help promote National Electrical Safety Month, ESFI has teamed up with Scholastic on the development of It's Electric!, a classroom education program that focuses on electrical safety awareness and education, targeting children in grades 3-5.
As part of a take-home kit for students to share with their families, ESFI has developed a series of colorful hands-on learning tools featuring our mascot, Private I. Plug - including a maze and coloring and activity sheets.

| ESFI LAUNCHES NEW IMPROVED SITE DESIGN AND NAVIGATION |
 ESFI has succesfully launched a new, user-centered Web site featuring an improved site design and streamlined navigation. The new site architecture will allow ESFI staff to easily produce and publish timely content in the form of news, safety tips, videos, and downloadable publications.

In the aftermath of severe weather events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and flash floods, the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) is encouraging consumers to be aware of the potential dangers that result when water comes in contact with electricity.
