Blogging Q and A
Should I Blog?
Yes:
Why Should I Blog?
Blogging creates content and can prove to be an effective piece of your SEO.
Blogging can also enhance your reputation as an expert in your area of expertise and your industry.

Also, very few people in the industry are actually blogging, and fewer are blogging effectively, so that adds another valuable piece to the marketing plan and a unique differential to destroy the "all answering services are the same" thinking
What should I blog about?
This is usually the one thing that stops people from blogging. People do not want to read about how great your company is or what services and solutions you provide. Those are sales items and there is certainly a place for them on your website, but not necessarily in a blog.
So, what should I blog about?
The easy answer is to blog about what you are experienced in and an expert in.
Answering Service?
No.. although you have that experience and expertise, people who read blogs, and search the blogosphere, want to read about what interests them and want information that can assist them in their daily personal or professional lives.
Topics of which you may have varying degrees of expertise - Staffing & HR. Hiring practices... and bemusements -
How you are able to spot a good hire and a bad hire a mile away - or perhaps a phone call away.
How to deal with an upset caller. This is a skill that, like it or not, we have all developed from lots of practice and a skill that is not common and is held in high regard by people who have not had the opportunity to answer 100-300 calls a day for multiple months and years.
These are 2 good topics that do not in any way tell the reader what a great company you are and how using an answering service, your answering service, can help them grow their company etc. Readers will be drawn to you by your expertise, which will in turn develop a trust, which in turn will lead them to your company when they have a need. But, better yet, they will tell their friends and colleagues to go to your blog which will expand your reach and enhance your expertise.
Yes it will take time ... yes it will take commitment and dedication to blog consistently. And please, please, please ... if you are not going to blog consistently do not start. Nothing says "stay away" more than a blog post from 2009 and nothing since.
Now a question for you ...
Who are your clients ? Not what industries do you service... but who are your clients... what demographics do they fall into?
This is important for many reasons ... reasons I will share with you in the next edition
