What's Working?

Many people have sent this very question to aksmark@atsi.org.

They want to know where they should be spending their time and money to attract more clients.

Well there are many people smarter than I who can answer this question so let's get their opinion on the matter:

HubSpot Blog - Inbound Internet Marketing

Much like any information this is not the end all and be all of what's going to work for you.  However, there are obvious trends and patterns one can pull from this information.

Social Media is playing a more dominant role in marketing than ever before and what was once considered standard and stalwart advertising - print / media / cold calls / tel-e-marketing is trending down.

This by no means gives permission to tell your boss to hire a social media guru or a college intern to start blogging and to cut out all print ads and that you no longer have to do cold calls.  But it is good information to have in your pocket to suggest that more time be put into those items in the top cloud (and less time cold calling and other things in the bottom cloud) to see what kind of ROI and increased exposure can be achieved.

Social Media may be a new, exciting, fun and for the most part FREE way to advertise, but success is accomplished the same way as any other medium.
