I need to lose weight fast-help me!!

#1. super-fast weight loss isn't safe. No matter how much you weigh, your body needs a certain # of calories every day in order to grow, think, and have energy. Most girls need a minimum of 1200-1500 and you shouldn't lose more than about one pound a week.

#2. Weight-loss supplements ARE NOT SAFE AT ALL. They have been linked to heart problems and even death! The rule is that 'if it seems to good to be true, it is too good to be true!

#3. No matter how healthy an eating plan is, it can't help you 'spot lose'. This means that you can't focus on trying to lose weight on only ONE area of your body like your stomach, thighs or arms. If you lose it will be where your body chooses to lose! Exercise can help you tone up particular areas--slowly over time.

Dr. Susan can't give you any personal medical or psychological advice in her newsletter. If you are worried about your physical or emotional health, it is really important to speak to your doctor or to another adult who can help you! Don't wait! If you are not sure who to talk to you can email Dr. Susan at drsusan@drsusanbartell.com and she can help you figure it out.
