#1 Eat a healthy meal before going to a party--not just a small snack, but a whole meal. This way you won't be tempted to eat all the junk food.
#2 Check out all the food before diving in--then try to stick with the foods that are 'special'--those you don't get all year round.
#3 Save on seconds--eat as many second helpings as you want when it comes to veggies and fruit, but save your seconds on other foods for the things you REALLY adore...and no thirds!
#4 Eat on a small plate--it really works! You'll eat less food and fewer calories...really, try it and let me know!
#5 Drink water and seltzer instead of soda. Save your calories for the really yummy stuff!!
#6 Resist alcohol...for a few reasons (beyond the obvious). It is empty calories and it lowers your inhibitions so you are MUCH more likely to eat other food and drinks that you don't really want or need. If I can't convince you not to drink at all, then stick with one drink and sip it all night...and I have to say it, because I care about you...NEVER drink and drive or get in a car with anyone that you even suspect has been drinking, smoking pot or using any other drugs.
