Greetings!

Happy New Year!

Did you know that New Year's resolutions can be a source of great stress? Making them isn't the problem. But for many people, as the year wears on, it becomes difficult--or even impossible--to keep these promises made at the beginning of the year. Feelings of guilt, failure and of course stress are the result.

This newsletter shows you how to make and keep effective resolutions--now, or at anytime!

The 5 main reasons your resolution is likely fail:
  • It is not specific enough.
  • You have made too many resolutions.
  • Someone else picked your resolution for you.
  • You made a resolution that is too complicated to execute, or you haven't considered all the necessary steps.
  • You expect others--employees, employer, family members--to help fulfill your resolution.
Success is in the planning!

5 Tips for STRESS FREE resolution Success!
  • Recognize that achieving a resolution requires the same planning and tenacity as any other important goal in life.
  • Pick only ONE resolution!
  • Make sure it is concrete, specific, clear and measurable (e.g.: I will increase production 5% this year, NOT I will produce much more this year; I will lose 10lbs this year, NOT I will lose a lot of weight this year; I will turn off my PDA during non-business hours, NOT I will talk less on the cell-phone).
  • Write down 3 short-term goals towards achieving your resolution (each should take a few weeks to achieve), and 3 long-term goals (which should each take a few months to a year to reach). This is the business plan for your resolution!
  • Review your goals throughout the year and revise them if necessary so that you have achieved your resolution by 12/31/2010.
