Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Featured This Week

October 13-19, 2010 Boating in Stillwater

Starting today, the National Park Service website is showcasing the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor on its homepage as the Getaway of the week. The popular Getaway feature helps people find new places to reconnect with nature, history, family, and friends.

About 30,000 people a day visit the National Parks homepage and several hundred are expected to click through to the Getaway feature. In addition, about 50,000-65,000 impressions are generated on Facebook as a result of the Getaway.

"This is a great way to generate interest in the Erie Canalway and introduce people to the many things to see and do here," says Beth Sciumeca, Executive Director. "We hope it leads people to plan a trip and experience what is here first hand."
