Welcome to the Syracuse Weighlock!
New interactive exhibit now available online Syracuse Weighlock Building
Ever wonder what a weighlock was or how one worked? The Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse is located in the only remaining weighlock building. The structure was once used to collect tolls on freight boats on the Erie Canal. Thanks to a new interactive exhibit at the museum and online, young visitors can become "assistant weighmasters," weighing boats and collecting tolls as they operate the weighlock.

TRY THE GAME ONLINE and recommend it to teachers (and youngsters) you know. The interactive exhibit was funded, in part, by a grant from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. To learn more about the museum: WWW.ERIECANALMUSEUM.ORG
