Dear School of Ministry friend,
The University of Dallas School of Ministry has been busy
this summer! Besides moving from our old location at Holy Trinity Seminary to
our new home in Catherine Hall, several new people have joined our staff. Dani
Schumer has joined our team as the Events and Communications Manager, while
Cecilia Rangel is working as the Administrative Assistant to the Conference
Coordinator. Likewise, Geralyn Berry just recently began as the Administrative
Assistant to the Catholic Biblical School and Scott Opperman began August 1 as the Post-Graduate Fellow. We encourage you to stop by to see
our new home and the new faces!
We have also been busy this summer preparing for fall
classes and the upcoming Ministry Conference. The height of registration for the Catholic
Biblical School and Adult Faith Formation is right around the corner, but we
still need your help! Please encourage your friends, family, and parishes to
check out our programs.
To date, we have 60 speakers lined up for the Conference,
including keynotes given by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of
Galveston-Houston, and Rev. Ignacio Larraņaga, Prayer and Life Founder.
We hope to have 6,000 participants. If you haven't already considered
attending the conference, or if you haven't had a chance to sign-up yet, we
encourage you to do both. Early registration ends September 1. Group rates are available!
Our professors are also preparing for various speaking
engagements over the next year. Both Brian Schmisek, Dean of the School of
Ministry, and James McGill, a Catholic Biblical School Instructor, have been
invited to speak at the next Religious Education Congress, which will be held
March 19-21, 2011. More information about the RE Congress can be found here. We are so proud of their accomplishments and look forward to
the Congress.
Thank you again for your continual support of the School of
Ministry and the mission we pursue. See you in class and at the conference!
