Dear Friends of the School of Ministry,

Many thanks to graduate students, alumni, and friends who attended the presentations of the applicants for our recently completed search. I am happy to announce that Dr. Dan Luby has accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Theology in the School of Ministry. He will also assume additional duties as Director of Enrollment and Student Affairs for graduate programs.

Dr. Luby has a long history with the University of Dallas, working first as the Associate Director of Admissions from 1972-1975. He earned the MA in Theology from UD in 1977 and then went to the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome where he earned the STL (1980) and STD (1994) in Spiritual Theology. From 1980-1986 he was on the faculty of the UD Department of Theology and Holy Trinity Seminary. He began full-time work with the Diocese of Fort Worth in 1982.

Dr. Luby was on the first faculty of IRPS, and served as an adjunct there until 2007 when he accepted the Tschoepe Chair of Homiletics.  Dr. Luby has won awards from the Catholic Press Association for his writing, and is a popular and engaging teacher. There is little doubt that Dr. Luby will add significant value to the educational experience offered in the School of Ministry. Our students will benefit greatly from his expertise, knowledge, and skill.

Congratulations Dan,
