From Bishop Prior...
With close to 4,000 miles on my car since I have arrived I
have had a chance to begin to enjoy the Episcopal Church in Minnesota. Consistently what I have discovered is
very competent clergy and deeply committed laity all sharing in ministry.
Truly, the level of passion for God's mission and the love of the Episcopal Church
here is awe inspiring.
I have thousands of miles in front of me and I look forward
to the destinations they bring me to. For in each community of faith I am sure
to find more who love the Lord and desire to make their congregations healthy
and vital.
Thanks for sharing the journey with me!
Please stay in touch through my blog, www.brianprior.com, Twitter (brianprior) and Facebook. Or, through telephone and email, brian.p@episcopalmn.org.

Around the State
Associated Press story features Holy Apostles, St. Paul The following are the introductory sentences of a recent national story by Pat Condon of the Associated Press, Words like 'peace' and 'mercy' are vital to talking about Christianity.
They're just two of many English words difficult to translate smoothly
as an evolving Episcopal congregation tries to create a Hmong version
of the denomination's Book of Common Prayer. Read the full story as it appeared in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Ready for Success ECS Men's Program becomes permanent As of January 4, the Ready for Sucess Men's Program is a permanent component of the programming provided by Episcopal Community Services (ECS). The Men's Program began in June, 2008 as a pilot in partnership with Goodwill Easter Seals in St. Paul/Minneapolis. Ready for Success provides gently used professional clothing and accessories, as well as new personal care items, to men graduating from a work skills program at Goodwill Easter Seals. Read more about this Program on the ECS website.
Episcobuilders sees early success Episcobuilders, the network of 7 congregations in the west metro area that have partnered to build a Habitat for Humanity home, recently sponsored a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and talent show. Through this single event, Episcobuilders grossed more than $6,400, including a leadership gift of $1,000 from Bishop Prior from the offering collected at the consecration for special ministries. The event welcomed more than 250 people on a mid-week winter night, showing that there is quite a bit of energy and enthusiasm about this project. For more information about Episcobuilders, contact the Rev. Lindsay Hardin Freeman at lhfreeman25@gmail.com.

Featured photo St. Mary's, St. Paul's 'takes it to the streets'On Ash Wednesday, the Rev. Rex McKee and the Rev. Margy Mattlin (both pictured) and the Rev. LeeAnne Watkins (taking this photo), stood for two hours on the corner of Grand and Victoria in St. Paul offering ashes and blessings to anyone requesting them, including people in cars stopped at the light.
