Holy Cross, Dundas, sells building, taking time to discern future ministry
The building occupied by Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Dundas is slated to be sold to Rejoice! Lutheran Church sometime later this fall. In June, the vestry of Holy Cross voted to call for a 'cessation of worship' in order to discern the future ministry of the community without taking the step of canonically closing the church.

"While this is a painful time for many at Holy Cross, Dundas, who have dedicated so much of their time and energy to supporting this community", reflected Bishop James L. Jelinek, "This is a natural and holy part of the lifecycle of a congregation and I am pleased that the vestry at Holy Cross had the courage to take this step into the unknown. Knowing the Holy Spirit is at work, I look forward to the further discernment about the shape of the community's ministry in Dundas and continue to keep the people of Dundas in my prayers."

Rejoice! Lutheran is a recent church plant in the Dundas area, hosting a growing congregation that had outgrown its current facility. Even as Rejoice! Lutheran occupies the building, they will offer ongoing hospitality to the people of Holy Cross for use of the chapel for pastoral services. Through collaboration there is also the possibility of sharing additional ministries and outreach.

Proceeds from the sale of the property will be restricted to mission development in the Northfield/Dundas area. No part of this sale will be allocated to the Trustees or the Diocese of Minnesota.
