BBQ to help build a home for Habitat for Humanity
Eight West Suburban Episcopal churches, naming themselves the "EpiscoBuilders," joined forces Saturday to kick-off a fund-raising effort that will lead to building a home for Habitat for Humanity. Former WCCO TV morning anchor, Cindy Hilger, emceed the event as over 300 church members and guests gathered to network, play games, listen to live bands, and eat genuine Alabama pulled-pork BBQ sandwiches, complete with secret sauces, prepared by Alabama native, the Rev. Andrew Waldo, Rector of Trinity, Excelsior. The EpiscoBuilders pulled in over $10,000 for the event. The parishes sponsoring the event included Trinity, St. Stephen's, St. David's, St. Edward's, St. Martin's by the Lake, St. Alban's, Epiphany, and St. George's.
