Bishop Search
Candidate visits ongoing
submitted by the Rev. Neil Willard
This is an exciting week in our search for the IX Bishop of Minnesota. Teams have now completed their visits to the 8 remaining candidates in their current ministry locations. These teams will report on their interviews and observations at the next committee meeting on Saturday, June 20, at St. Peter's Church in Kasson. Invitations will then be extended to those candidates whom we decide to interview before the whole committee in Minnesota. So the coming days will be filled with much prayer, reflection, and conversation. Rejoice!

Bronwyn, PB, bishop Letter from Canon Bronwyn Skov
It is with a bittersweet heart that I write this farewell to the faithful Episcopalians of the Diocese of Minnesota. You have been part of my mission field and call since February 1, 1992, when I began my first call to Youth Ministry at St. Luke's in Hastings. The good news is that my new call as Program Officer for Lifelong Christian Formation and Youth for The Episcopal Church still includes you as my mission field and Minnesota as my home. Just try and get rid of me, Region V! Read the full text of Bronwyn's letter...
From the National Church
National conferences focus on mission
Three important Episcopal Church conferences -- Start Up! Start Over!, Plant My Church, and the Black Clergy Leadership Institute - have been brought together in a new collaborative event called Remix for Mission.  This innovative presentation will be held September 21 - 25 at Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Sponsored by the Episcopal Church's Evangelism and Congregational Life Center, Remix for Mission provides opportunities to participate in the traditional offerings from the individual events, cross over to explore a workshop from one of the other events, and add several new and timely workshops. The cost for Remix for Mission is $605 for a single room; $445 for a double room; and $137 for commuters. Registration is open, and space is limited. Meet Your General Convention Deputies
James HuberJames Huber
Jim Huber has been busy on behalf of the church. For the past several years, he has chaired what may arguably be the most active diocesan committee and project in recent history, the Bishop's Commission on Mission Strategy (BCMS) and subsequent Mission Strategy Network (MSN). He has also served two terms on Diocesan Council, co-chaired the Diocesan Discernment Committee, participated in the Commission on Ministry and Standing Committee, and served as a General Convention Deputy four times. "After chairing the BCMS and subsequent MSN, I believe I know this Diocese of Minnesota very well," says Huber. "I have come to love the people of this diocese, and my fervent prayer is that together, with the help of God, we will strengthen and grow this church both in numbers and spirit. We have something really great - we must share it with all. It is with this sense of mission that I will represent our beloved diocese at General Convention."

Neysa Ellgrenthe Rev. Neysa Ellgren
The Rev. Neysa Ellgren developed a passion for national church governance through serving as an alternate deputy to General Convention in 2006. Since that time, Neysa has followed the issues facing the church at the international, national, state, and local levels and has been consistently involved in discerning new directions and programs toward fulfillment of God's mission. Neysa has been active as the Dean of Region VI of the diocese, and as past president for the MN Episcopal Clergy Association, Advisor for Holy Orders for Young Vocations, Chair of the Department of Congregational Development and serving on the diocesan Continuing Education Committee and the Episcopal Society for Ministry in Higher Education Steering Committee. "At this time in history The Episcopal Church has the opportunity to show the rest of the world ways to live in communion while holding in tension different theological perspectives," says Ellgren. "I have closely followed the issues we are facing and know that I will strongly represent our diocese at General Convention."
