Mission Convocation Saturday, May 2, 9 am to 3:30 pm Breck School
|
|
Preparing for Convocation This Saturday's Convocation at Breck School will be an invigorating day filled with worship, fellowship, plenary and small group
discussions. We are expecting over 200 participants from all over the state. With such energy building, here are some ways you can prepare for this event: Didn't
register early? No worries. You can register onsite between 8:30 and 9 am. Lunch will be provided with a suggested $10 donation to
cover costs. Contact Wendy Johnson, 612-870-3303, if you have any questions.
Donate a Water Bottle In the land of 10,000 lakes, why should anyone be thirsty? Summer is coming and water can be surprisingly difficult to find for people on the streets. The Second Sunday community is collecting water bottles to distribute to individuals in Minneapolis who are currently living without a home. Please plan to bring a new, reusable water bottle to Convocation to help address this concern.
Welcome Our Facilitator, Doug Baker
Doug
Baker, Sr. will facilitate the conversation on Saturday. Doug is a writer and Executive Coach, a former senior executive with
American Express, a teacher at three local universities and colleges, a former
senior warden at St. Paul's, Minneapolis, a former interim executive director
at Episcopal Community Services, a former vice chair of The Episcopal House of
Prayer, and currently a trustee for the United Theological Seminary of the Twin
Cities and Founder and Director of SpiritSearch,
a small group ministry.
Live Webcast http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mission-convocation-2009. The chatroom will be open throughout Convocation and a live moderator will assume responsibility for incorporating chat-based conversation into the Convocation dialogue.
