Top 5 Things To Do:
Limerick, Ireland
1. Visit the Treaty Stone. Walk along the beautiful River Shannon and soak up the history of Limerick's many battles while getting a view of King John's Castle across the river.
2. Watch a rugby match at Thomond Park. Home to the Irish Rugby Football Union, Thomond Park provides the perfect opportunity to see some great tackles and chant and yell alongside the rugby-crazed citizens of Limerick.
3. Hear the famous bells of St. Mary's. The cathedral of St. Mary's was founded in 1168 and is now in the heart of the city. For hundreds of years its bells have rung in every joyous or sad event including announcing the arrival of the New Year.
4. See Picasso, Renoir and Yeats. Visit the Hunt's Museum to see one of the largest privately-held collections of art in Ireland. In addition to Picasso, Renoir and Yeats see tools from the Celtic period and the Scots Cross of Mary Queen of Scots.
5. Sample Irish cuisine. Visit one of Limerick's old pubs or its new, more contemporary restaurants to sample Irish stew, bacon and cabbage, or colcannon.

Meet Lindsey, Volunteer in Ecuador
Lindsey participated in World Endeavors' teaching in Ecuador volunteer program, teaching computer skills to 6-12 year olds in Guayaquil during her summer break.
As an education student, Lindsey found that her experience in Ecuador increased her desire to become a teacher, while also equipping her in new ways to take on the challenges of teaching students from different backgrounds.
She explains, "I feel a lot more comfortable with the idea of working with students who come from completely different backgrounds than me because I was able to connect on a really substantial level with children who I had very little in common with on the surface."
In addition to working hard as a volunteer, Lindsey took the time to explore Ecuador and advises, "You are only there once, so make sure to take advantage of it!"

Intern Abroad This Summer with World Endeavors!
The summer months provide a great opportunity to fit in an experience abroad. If you're looking for an opportunity to explore a particular field while gaining invaluable professional experience, doing an international internship this summer is a great option! Below are a few of the benefits of interning abroad this summer.
1. World Endeavors internships can be tailored to your specific academic and professional interests. Health care, journalism, environmental conservation, engineering, architecture, art, film, marketing and law are just of a few the fields in which World Endeavors offers internships.
2. You can fit an internship into your busy schedule. Most of our internships start on any Monday and can last from 2 to 6 months.
3. Your internship can be a great opportunity to practice your language skills. You'll be immersed in your company and organization and have many chances every day to improve your language skills with one-on-one interaction with native speakers. Practice or improve your Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, or Chinese!
4. One summer can provide the experience that makes your resume stand out from the crowd. In today's interconnected world, knowledge of other cultures and experience working with colleagues from different backgrounds than your own are essential to your success in most professions.

Chinese New Year
Happy Lunar New Year! This year, February 3rd rang in the Year of the Rabbit. According to the Chinese Zodiac, people born this year will be talented, ambitious and well-spoken.
The Chinese New Year is the most important traditional Chinese holiday. The celebration includes many traditions to help usher in a fresh year and let go of any problems from the past year. Houses are traditionally swept to clean out any bad luck and make room for good fortune.
After a giant feast for the whole family, the celebration typically ends with firecrackers. The first day of the New Year is ushered in with well wishes to all family members and red envelopes of money for any children.
The next fifteen days of the New Year all have special traditions attached to them. On the thirteenth day, for example, it is traditional to only eat vegetarian food in order to begin cleansing your system after eating so much food during the festivities!
