 With the economy in a downturn, now is a great time to head abroad for a professional internship experience. World Endeavors' Spain internship program is based in Valencia, located on the Mediterranean coast, only a few hours by ferry from Ibiza and Mallorca and home of Spain's famous rice dish, paella. Interns study Spanish and gain professional work experience by day, and explore Spain's warm culture and vibrant nightlife in their free time.

 Looking for a chance to make a difference, improve your Spanish, and have the adventure of a lifetime? World Endeavors offers a variety of volunteer placements in fields such as orphanage assistance, teaching, indigenous women's assistance, and health care. Volunteers are based in Quetzaltenango, also known as Xela, a town full of cobblestone streets and Mayan culture, nestled in the Sierra Madre. Intern Scholarship Deadline Extended to December 15
 World Endeavors has extended the 2009 intern scholarship deadline to Monday, December 15, 2008! We are offering a US $200 scholarship for all interns who apply by December 15 for internships of 3 months or longer starting any time in 2009. A Message From Our Director
It has been hard to avoid hearing bad news about the economy lately, but at World Endeavors we have been happy to see continued interest in international programs. We believe very strongly that there is no better time than now to go abroad. Here are three reasons why.

- Great Investment in Challenging Economic Times - Job candidates and students who invest in themselves in this difficult job market will be better equipped to compete. Research suggests that employers often favor candidates with international experience. By participating in international internship, study, and volunteer programs, individuals strengthen their credentials and improve their cultural intelligence.
- Great Exchange Rates - Recently, the US dollar has remained fairly strong against a number of foreign currencies. US students who go abroad now may have up to 30% more buying power than they would have had n the same country 6 months to a year ago.
- Scholarships Available - This fall, World Endeavors launched our very own international education stimulus package which included scholarships on a vast array of our already affordable programs. If you missed out on earlier scholarships, you can still take advantage of our intern scholarship, which has been extended to mid-December.
