Volunteer in Guatemala
|
We're very excited about our newest volunteer program- Volunteer in Guatemala! Our volunteers now have the chance to travel to one of the most beautiful countries in Latin America, as well as experience native culture and traditions. Participants can help in a number of different ways, including teaching English and other subjects, volunteering in an orphanage, providing health services and education, or unique projects like Indigenous Women's Assistance. We are especially in need of volunteers with Spanish speaking abilities, although of course there are ways for everyone to make a difference. Volunteers stay with host families and receive a personal introduction into Guatemalan daily life. Come with us to volunteer in Guatemala and you'll certainly never want to leave.

Volunteer in Thailand
Volunteering in the "Land of the Smiling People" (Thailand) is one of the most unique options we have. The friendliness of the Thai people is rivaled only by their country's stunning landscape of sandy beaches and misty mountains. Better yet, you're not just a tourist with World Endeavors. By volunteering, staying with a host family, and taking language classes, you can become a part of this exciting culture.

WE Staff starts new volunteer project
If you thought we just sent volunteers abroad, you are mistaken! This month, our staff has started an office volunteer project that's got us really excited. We are offering up our time and basement to help conservation efforts of the National Park Service. This spring, World Endeavors will be growing 10 species of native plants (flowers, grasses, etc.) to enhance and restore the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area that is located just steps from our office! Did I mention we are really excited? We always knew that the Mississippi was beautiful but we had no idea how ecologically diverse our area of the river was. Who knew that three major biomes converge here near the river? Now the Park Service is trying to restore the river area in Minneapolis and St. Paul to pre-settlement conditions. We feel extra special that we are the first organization to partner with the Park Service on this project. Our little seeds have already sprouted and sometime this June they will be planted near the shores of the Mighty Mississippi! We'll update you on the progress of our endeavor very soon.
