Milky Whey Specialty Cheese Shop: just opened its doors this weekend at 118 Ontario Street, Stratford {former FloralCraft location}. Owner Liz Payne has a delectable assortment of fresh & delicious cheese according to some of the women in my life who made it in on Saturday while I was working & according to my own palate. Two remarkable cheeses disappeared at our house this weekend & I'm waiting for more to arrive or my chance to go nuts in the cheese store.

New Canadian CDs: Great Lasting Gifts
|
, · Blue Rodeo : The Things We Left Behind Here's the 12th studio work {+ all the live stuff} a double CD from Toronto's veteran roots rockers. Canada's most respected alt-country-pop band have sold over four million records since getting together in 1984 {hey that's the year Judy & I got married!}. This may be the best Blue Rodeo album in years. Are they our own Crosby, Stills and Nash? No, our own Blue Rodeo! $26.95
· Madison Violet: No Fool For Trying Two vocal talents (MacEachern & MacIsaac ~ one from Cape Breton and one from Kincardine On) pair up for their third successful CD but this one has that extra something that sells. Strong songs, well produced, solid harmonies, lovely acoustic arrangements and all around appealing music that would make a lovely gift for anyone who likes to listen to music while driving or working around the house. A heartfelt crowd-pleaser for sure. $19.95
· Harry Manx: Bread And Buddha Harry has found his niche and he's not leaving it any time soon, he knows his fans just love what he does and want more of it. He has a sexy voice that women love & that remarkable blend of traditional Delta blues with the sound of India. Good mix of covers and originals (Judy's favourite turns out to be written by Kevin Breit) that will please all fans of that little known genre 'Maharishi meets Muddy Waters'.
$21.95
· Corb Lund: Losin' Lately Gambler Gotta love this guy, because Ian Tyson does. Corb, a 4th generation Albertan writes country songs about people and life and stuff but never comes off sounding cheesy or contrived. His clever lyrics are backed up by good fun music well played. This, his 6th CD carries on the traditions of music that makes you smile {previous fav's: The Truck Got Stuck / Family Reunion / Hard On Equipment}.
$18.95
· Colin James: Rooftops And Satellites Good lively party music for after the guests have gone and you are cleaning up the empties. Vancouver's amazing blues-rocker carries forward with 7 of the CD's 12 tracks co-written by Canadian roots-rock stalwart Tom Wilson. Colin tosses us everything from touching ballads to horn drenched funk. Always a winner!
$18.95
· Michael Bublé: Crazy Love Jazz standards with punch and pizzazz. This guy has style and can sing ... and his own compositions are always interesting additions, sometimes even the highlight of the CD as in this case ... Haven't Met You Yet. This guy, son of a Burnaby BC salmon fisherman is a world-wide star at the highest level, 20 million CDs & counting, Grammy & Juno Awards, tours every continent but he's a great Canadian & has fantastic pipes. Excellent gift! $22.95
· Stuart McLean: Planet Boy The annual offering of 2 CDs of Dave and Morley stories in case one a week on the radio isn't enough. A great gift for the commuter, sure fire cure for road rage any day.
$25.95
