 Greetings!

Wow .. spring is worth waiting for this year and I'm loving it. The cooler weather has allowed the spring flowers to last, perfect tonic for the lingering winter! Apple trees are bursting with blossoms, grass is growing at a frightening pace .. I'm not complaining, I love cutting it, it forces me to study our gardens and plot more plantings. And I enjoy it all with great Canadian tunes on our outdoor speakers.

Cheers & enjoy your outdoor spaces...

Outdoor Speakers ... something for everyone

Rock Monitor

There's simply no excuse...... Summer's too short to not have  your favourite music outside. Don't even think of moving your living room speakers to the deck ... they will not survive your first party.

We have speakers that will thrill you but not tick off your neighbours. We have a team of expert installers who will make the music happen on your deck or in your garden. Rocks, planters, urns, weatherproof Stylus speakers that tuck under your eaves
& new Marine-Grade, never rust speakers with stainless steel grills that we can build right into your soffits.

They are all here at Music and we can explain how outdoor music can fit into your life. Father's Day is just around the corner ... what could be finer than tunes by the barbecue for dear old dad?!

New Canadian CDs . . .

Sarah Slean· Sarah Slean ~ Baroness
A polished performance
from someone I've largely ignored ... till now. Great songs, compelling voice, sophisticated arrangements. This Pickering native is a classically trained pianist who serves up piano-based pop that's bluesy, sultry yet engagingly contemplative & wistful.

Alex J Robinson· Alex J Robinson ~ Never Say Never
I'm not traditionally a country music fan but if you have chores to do (I cleaned all the spruce cones off an acre listening to this on my iPod) you can't beat the up tempo fresh sound of this gal. Watch out Shania, you've got serious competition!

Justin Rutledge· Justin Rutledge ~ Man Descending
This guy gets under your skin ... in a good way. The songs have some amazing quality that only truly good art can boast of. Toronto's alt-country 20 year old kid dishes up slow-paced, slightly melancholy, evocative & poetic songs. He's literate, rootsy & gutsy: "Everyone's in love with you ... but me" is a track that well, gets under your skin.

Barenaked Ladies· Barenaked Ladies ~ Snacktime
How cool is this ... dads making music for their kids. If you have kids, had kids, know kids, might have kids, this is a no-brainer. It's singalong madness, it's crazy fun, it's BARENAKED LADIES. Just makes me laugh anyway you look at it!

Laila Biali· Laila Biali ~ From Sea To Sky
Outstandingly beautiful CD you won't want to stop listening to. Soft & easy music that sucks you in, sooths your soul & leaves you searching for more. Wonderfully sung songs by Leonard, Jane, Joni, Sarah, Bruce, Ron, Feist, Marc & more all masterfully accompanied by Phil Dwyer, Guido Basso, Don Thompson, Rob Piltch. Oh yeah, she's also a knock-out.

Watering Holes & Wanderings

· Having fun with the girls in London England... {way before the pubs open}

Marine Grade· Rundles Restaurant
is offering more excuses for dining out this year. With a new Sophisto-Bistro menu at an inviting $39.50 to $49.50 exclusively served in the back Garden Room & good value wines to accompany we can all taste Chef Neil Baxter's amazing fare without having to sell one of the kids. Bistro Dinners from Tuesday to Sunday, lunch Saturday & Sundays only.
And, if you do want to go for the gusto {& get rid of the kids} Rundles front River Room is impossible to beat for that very special night out. Chef Neil's wonderful offerings are here for the taking. Seems that this year you can have your cake & leave with some too. Yum yum. Check it out:  Rundles

· Pearl Sushi continues to turn out beautiful Japanese sushi, sashimi, teriyaki & tempura just down the street from the Avon Theatre & Foster's Inn. Master Sushi Chef Bud Park is a true artist & he & his staff are a lovely, charming addition to Stratford's unbeatable restaurant scene. If you are lucky grab the seats right at the kitchen window & just ask Bud to feed you. Open every single day, lunch & dinner, except the 1st Monday of every month, {what a slacker, taking a day a month off}. Truly fine food & fun too!  Pearl Sushi

· Down The Street, admittedly one of my all-time world-wide favourite watering holes, has kicked in to summer mode. The patio is open, lunch, dinner, even late-night dining {until midnight} are all on, Tuesday to Saturday {+ Sundays as of June 8}. Bar is apparently open until 1 AM although I don't recall ever making it that far. Local growers, local suppliers & lots of just plain locos all deftly presided over by Susan's big smile. Reservations are probably a good idea at this always hopping spot. Down The Street
