Lincoln Celebrates the Arts!

2012 Mayor's Arts Awards Join us for a great evening of celebration as we congratulate the people who make Lincoln such a great arts destination. There's nothing like the Mayor's Arts Awards, a fabulous evening with great food and merriment, for reminding us that it's the people who make Lincoln special.

While a mischievous gremlin has offered different reservation deadlines, the definitive answer is Monday, June 11th.Reservations can be made by check, credit card or PayPal, up until Monday at 12:00 PM. There will be limited open seating the night of the event if you would like to pay at the door. Come join us and celebrate the arts in Lincoln.

Thank you to the 2012 Mayor's Arts Awards sponsors!

Have you ever been asked...Why did you write that check? Before all of us non-detail, non-impulsive partners well up with grief stories about having to 'splain' that big check to Target to our necessarily frugal, detailed partner who runs our checkbooks....I'm talking about large amounts of money that require thought. The non-impulse spends. The 'heart-felt' wow - this would be a great project to fund....those check requests. How do you make those tough choices? We are starting to ask you all....here's what we are hearing.

"The Lincoln Arts Council helps inspire and enhance our community with their continuing effort to incorporate the arts in every major project the city undertakes. This is why Liberty First Credit Union is proud to support the Lincoln Arts Council. We have been a sponsor for the past three years. We focus on the same core behaviors artists use to grow, in helping our members manager their money: Focus, Repetition and Improvement. We would encourage the residents of Lincoln and the surrounding communities to come out and support all of the genres of art such as theater, fine art, and music."
- Ken Bradshaw, CEO President Liberty First Credit Union

WOW! This is what great partnerships is all about - moving forward on common ground.

A New Way To Give.....

Give to Lincoln Day

...and WOW did Lincoln give from their hearts!!!

The 1st annual Give To Lincoln Day coordinated through the Lincoln Foundation on May 17th was a resounding success.

Though the totals aren't yet back to us, we anticipate that the total dollars given to the Lincoln Arts Council was just over $2,000. How great a day was that??

Your generous gifts to LAC make it possible for us to continue to support the arts in this great city and explore new collaborative opportunities through the arts.

Welcome back to an old Lincoln Arts Council friend!

Tara Gottula

Tara (Young) Gottula first served on a LAC committee in 1991 and has been either in front or behind the scenes ever since. Now, she's agreed to be our new Development Director here and we are delighted. Her focus will be sponsorship of our programs with an eye on community collaborative opportunities.

Please give her a call at our offices if you have ideas, opportunities, or just to have coffee with her - she'd be happy to get to know you.

Welcome Tara!
