Mayor's Arts Awards: Mission Accomplished!

2011 Mayor's Arts AwardsThe 2011 Mayor's Arts Awards were presented on June 8th at the Lied Center. Over 350 people celebrated the arts in Lincoln and the people who make it possible. We had a great time, a fine meal and watched the Mayor show off his acting skills on our video. It was great fun, but we're encouraging him to keep his day job.

Thanks to our sponsors and all the people who helped to make it such a great event. Don't forget we'll be looking for your input next year as usual on the artists and art patrons who stand out as exceptional.

Lincoln Arts Festival Artists Announced

2011 Lincoln Arts FestivalWe're looking forward to September 24th & 25th when the Lincoln Arts Festival will once again be filled to the top with great artists. 19 states from Florida to Utah will be represented, with just over a quarter of the artists from Nebraska. We have a great mix of disciplines and price ranges, making it a great destination if you're looking for art to buy (or just looking).

We have many artists compliment our Festival as one of the nicest around-- large enough to be a great draw, a terrific location, and great artist-friendly management. We're happy for the compliment because we love artists!  Speaking of which, the list of participating artists is now available on our website, be sure to take a look and see who will be there.

Woods Charitable Fund Awards Grants

Woods Charitable FundThe Lincoln Arts Council wishes to express our sincere appreciation to the Woods Charitable Foundation for recognizing the significance and important work that the Lincoln Arts Council does.  We are dedicated to "inspire a creative community" and are dependent like many nonprofits, on the generosity of foundations, corporations and individual support.

The Woods Charitable Foundation has long put the arts in the forefront of their giving and we are honored to be a recipient.  So a big thanks to the Woods Foundation for your wonderful bigheartedness so that the Lincoln Arts Council can carry on keeping the arts vital in Lincoln.
