The People Behind the Arts

2010 Mayors Arts Awards ceremonyARTSblog by Deb Weber - This past Monday [June 7th] we were fortunate to celebrate the creativity in our community at the Mayor's Arts Awards.  The evening was spectacular with the Lied stage gorgeously decorated by Jack Saltzman.  He has provided decorations (well more than that, an ambiance) for hundreds of events held by arts and other nonprofits because he believes in their mission and wants to help them be successful.

Creative and resourceful, Jack embodies the model that we work by with a steadfast dedication to our mission first and foremost, followed by the engagement of community.  We need a lot of people like Jack Saltzman.  And indeed, there were many other award winners and guests at the Mayor's Arts Awards who either support or create works of inspiring art because they know the arts transform individual lives and build community.  More...
