Lincoln Arts Festival
The Arts Council is pleased to announce the 8th annual Lincoln Arts Festival is right around the corner! We have so many exciting happenings at the festival this year; you simply must make it a point to come visit us September 27 and 28 at SouthPointe Pavilions Shopping Center. The event will begin with a breakfast honoring our patron sponsors. These individuals are graciously supporting the arts community by committing to purchase $100 of art from the festival. In return, they will be recognized and their names will be listed among a long line of distinguished community arts enthusiasts. If you're interested in becoming a patron sponsor, it's not too late. Visit www.artscene.org for more information. The festival abounds this year with over 90 artists, 40 of which are first time exhibitors with fresh new art. From sculptures to paintings, journals to jewelry, there is truly something for everyone (and gifts for everyone else). Live music acts and artists demonstrations will be held throughout the days including some fan favorites such as the music of No Better Cause and the Toasted Ponies. Artists will be demonstrating some amazing techniques including a full painting in 30 minutes and leather bookbinding. A few other fun events round out the festival including the Frame Your Fame raffle. The Arts Council asked local celebrities, businesses and arts organizations to decorate a frame in the most creative way they could conjure and then fill these frames with donations and prizes including tickets to the theater, memberships to arts organizations, even a leather chair valued at over $600 from Slumberland Furniture. Raffle tickets will be available at the festival for your chance to win one of these Famous Frames. More...

Lincoln Community Playhouse
Have you ever known a girl who wanted something so badly, that she
tried too hard to get it? Meet Charity, the girl who wants to be loved
so much, that she has lost sight of who she is. Director Jason Weixelman brings to life the play based on the book by
Neil Simon, with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields.
Showing at the Lincoln Community Playhouse Thursdays through Sundays
August 29th to September 14th. See Charity sing, dance,
laugh and cry her way through romances with the "animal magnetism"
hero, the "ultra-chic continental" hero, and the "impossible-to
believe-but-he's-better than nothing" type hero. Her world is the all
too real world of Times Square, and the people who pass through her
world are as deceptively charming a group as ever swept across any
stage. More...
