Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts Nebraska Artist Opportunities at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts

Attention all artists: residency and exhibition opportunities await you at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City. Each year The Kimmel Harding Nelson residency program brings over fifty writers, composers, and visual artists from all over the world to Nebraska City to concentrate on creating art. In addition, each year six or more Nebraska visual artists exhibit work in the Center's gallery.
Residencies are awarded to working artists of any age world-wide through a competitive process. At the Art Center in Nebraska City, resident-artists are provided working and living environments that allow for uninterrupted time for work, reflection, creative growth, and development. Up to five resident-artists live and work at the Center at any given time and residencies are available for two-, four-, six-, or eight-weeks stays. Residents are provided comfortable apartments, separate studio spaces in which to work, as well as a weekly stipend to assist with living expenses. Visual artists work in one of three studios, two of which are approximately 425 square feet and one that is 258 square feet. Composers are provided a studio with an upright piano. Private writer's studios are located in two of the apartments, though occasionally writers occupy the composer's or visual art studios.
