Hi ,
I feel as if we've survived a major ordeal here in DC -- all that snow! -- and that the light is at the end of the tunnel. The snow is melting, and spring is just around the corner.
I can't wait!
One of the reasons I'm so excited is that I've planned some great programs for the next few months. (Stay tuned for my five-week series designed to fast-track you to the style you've always wanted.) First up is "Reinventing You," on March 9. Want to reinvent yourself? Scroll down for details. (And find out what participants have found so amazing about this workshop.)
And there's another reason I'm excited. Have you ever wondered what your best colors are? I just returned from studying color analysis in New York, and I'm more convinced than ever: Once you know YOUR best colors, you'll consistently look your best -- day in and day out -- AND you'll save time and money avoiding costly shopping mistakes. (I'm available for this service starting in April, so let me know if you'd like to book an appointment.)
Is your closet ready for the new season? Below are three trends to incorporate into your wardrobe right away -- no need to wait until Spring officially announces itself. If your closet isn't prepared for the warm weather, no worries -- I can help you edit your wardrobe so you're ready when the mercury climbs. Just call me or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!
Oh, and make sure to check out TWW's Facebook page (and become a fan) for more ideas jumpstarting your personal style.
Warmly,
Ketura www.TheWardrobeWorkshop.com

Ready to make your personal goals a reality? Reinventing YOU: A Wardrobe Workshop
|
Last month's Wardrobe Workshop was lots of fun for the women who came.
But it was more than that.
It
was inspiring; one woman even confessed she was moved to tears. Another
went home and immediately implemented some of the changes she'd
learned. Here's what she said:
I have been a purging QUEEN! It has felt wonderful; funny how
clearing out all the stuff that brought me down has elevated my mood! ... I thank you every time I
look at my re-imaged closet.
You've given me quite a gift....
Wouldn't you LOVE to get that feeling -- that lighter and freer feeling you get when you look in your closet and ... it looks like YOU?!
You'll
start down the road to feeling this way during this workshop,
"Reinventing You." We'll talk about finding the right time to make changes
-- BIG changes -- and how you can tackle them in step by step,
so they're manageable, never confusing or overwhelming. You'll learn
how to transform your personal style so you're ready for whatever the
future holds for you.
You'll
have plenty of time to ask questions and give and get helpful advice.
(Plus, of course, yummy refreshments.) And you'll walk away with a new
understanding of how to identify the new look that will support your personal and professional goals.
If you'd like to make changes in your personal style -- BIG changes -- without a lot of fuss, you won't want to miss this workshop, Tues., March 9, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at a private home in northwest DC. Please email me with questions or to RSVP. ( Feel free to bring a friend, I just need to know about it in advance.)

Spring trends 3 ways to get the look you want
Color yourself beautiful Soft neutrals like pink champagne, light pewter, and warm beige are the season's must-haves. These colors are showing up in skirts and dresses, bags, shoes, and even jewelry. The great news is that whatever your age or coloring, you can find something that will make you look gorgeous. These are easy and flattering colors, so this is definitely a trend to jump on!
Try pairing light pastels with neutrals, like the khaki and various military colors we're seeing, especially in utilitarian-styled jackets. Look for unusual fabrics like tulle and lace. Blue is huge for spring -- look for soft denim shades, mid-blue hues, and classic navy blue. Bolder color choices include coral, sunflower yellow, wisteria, purple, teal, turquoise and lime green.
Styling tips:
- Give nude shades a little more power with gleaming hardware on a leather bag
- Add strands of metal chain necklaces or pearls to soft-toned dresses or blouses to give a fresh, modern edge to all those beautiful pastels.
- Toughen up with a safari, military, or utilitarian edge by pairing an olive or khaki jacket with a softer skirt.
- Find the right light neutral for you. If you have cooler skin tones, look for pale, icy blue or cool pewter; with a warmer complexion, you'll want to stick to the golds and warm beiges. (Not sure which is right for you? Contact me about a color consultation.)
Play with fabric and texture This Spring's fabrics are light and airy, with soft, romantic layers of ruffles, feathers, vintage lace and see-through fabrics. These textures can add a feminine feel to your wardrobe, whether in clusters of tulle blooms on a dress or a sheer lace top with ruffling detail. Don't consider yourself a romantic? You can bring in just a hint of these trends. Aside from the soft and flirty textures of silk and lace, warm summer leathers appear in a more delicate way rather than the usual heavy look of leather. Snakeskin prints are popular as well, showing up in dresses, clutches, and shoes.
Styling tips:
- Add ruffles and lace to your wardrobe carefully by mixing them with classic pieces like a pencil skirt, a jacket, or your favorite jeans. (And only one snakeskin piece per outfit!)
- Keep your outfits work-worthy by using these lighter fabrics sparingly, and don't worry -- you can wear them with a suit to the office!
- Don't see yourself as a girly-girl with ruffles and lace? That's okay! Look for smaller ways to incorporate this trend, whether through a lighter-weight leather jacket or snakeskin print sandal.
Go crazy (with pattern) This spring, prints are less are loud and eye-catching in florals as well as tie-dye, tropical, digital, and tribal prints. Wear a little or a lot -- it's your choice.
Styling tips:
- Don't be afraid: Women of all ages, sizes, and lifestyles can wear prints
- Experiment by adding print to your life in small doses -- a scarf or summer tote, for instance, and
- Remember that a little goes a long way; before you leave home, review your outfit to make sure you aren't overdoing it.
Not sure what will work best for you? Give me a call, and I'll help you find the summer trends that will flatter you most.
