PSU Gears Up Technology Transfer
Portland State University shifted into high gear this Fall to drive
increased technology transfer, including commercialization. It has created a
new office to lead such efforts, launched a state-backed venture fund to
finance high-potential ventures, and linked these with its existing technology
incubator, the Portland State Business Accelerator. Read more.
Three New Companies Join PSBA
The
PSBA entrepreneurial community grew to 20 companies in October. Newest
additions include a start-up taking on Citysearch.com, a start-up creating
market research and knowledge management software, and an economic development
association focused on helping companies work with the defense industry.
Neutral Space, Inc.was founded in
August of 2006 by Dan Mendell of 1-800 Support and Raymond King of AboutUs. Its
first product will be citylogue.com. Read more.
Revelation, Inc. was founded in 2006 as a spin-out of KDA Research in San Francisco. It relocated to Oregon in July and is creating an online
research system that immerses a company's researchers in its customers'
experiences no matter where and when they happen. Read more.
Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition is an
Oregon and Washington economic development collaboration to identify and grow
companies working with the defense industry. It is partnering with PSU on several initiatives. Read more.
