We are looking for as many business owners as possible to attend the following Public Hearing on JULY 12th to make comments on the proposed reduction in reimbursement.

TEXAS HEALTH and HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION 

Hearing. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will conduct a public hearing to receive public comment on proposed Medicaid payments for Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) and Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) services to include: DMEPOS, Nutritional Products, Hearing and Vision Care Devices. The hearing will be held in compliance with Human Resources Code §32.0282, Texas Administrative Code, Title 1 (1 TAC), §355.105, and §355.201, which require public notice of and hearings on proposed Medicaid reimbursements.

Proposal.  The Medicaid payments for the above services are proposed to be reduced in response to direction received in the 2012-2013 General Appropriations Act (Article II, House Bill 1, 82nd Legislature, Regular Session, 2011), effective Sept. 1, 2011.

Methodology and Justification.  The proposed reimbursements are calculated in accordance with the previously cited sections of 1 TAC and the following sections, as applicable:

§355.201, which addresses the establishment and adjustment of reimbursement rates by HHSC;

§355.8001, which addresses the reimbursement methodology for vision care services;

§355.8021, which addresses the reimbursement methodology for home health professional services and DMEPOS;

§355.8087, which addresses the reimbursement methodology for in-home total parenteral hyperalimentation services;

§355.8141, which addresses the reimbursement methodology for hearing aid services;

§355.8441, which addresses the reimbursement methodology for DMEPOS in EPSDT;

§355.8461, which addresses the reimbursement methodology for the eyeglass program;
