2013-14 School Attendance Boundary Process Underway
The process for adjusting school attendance boundaries for the 2013-2014 school year is underway. The opening of Lindsey Elementary School in far northwest Allen and capacity issues at other campuses led the Board of Trustees to ask for a proposal to adjust current boundaries for next year.
Following the initial Board review in October, public hearings to present the proposal(s) are tentatively set for October 30 and November 6. Maps will also be posted on the Allen ISD website prior to the meetings once they are available.  The Board is expected to review public input and get updates at the October 22, November 26 and December 17 regular board meetings and make a final decision in January.  Changes would not go into effect until the next school year.

Energy Awareness Week Set For Oct. 15-19

In connection with National Energy Awareness month, the District will be holding its 2nd Annual Energy Awareness Week October 15 through 19.   Each day will have different themed contest to reduce energy consumption. Results will be compiled each night and an energy champion will be announced on Friday October 19.  Boyd Elementary produced the greatest saving in 2011. The District reduced energy consumption by almost 10% last year, partly as a result of the momentum generated during Energy Awareness Week.  Thank you in advance for your support of this effort.

Check The E-Bulletin Board For Allen Community Events

Allen ISD's Community Bulletin Board, "Allen on the Go," publicizes activities for local non-profit groups and organizations while saving them - and the district - time and money. The initiative allows these groups to post information on programs, fundraisers, classes and other activities on an Allen ISD-hosted Web page rather than having to print hundreds of fliers.

Allen ISD posts fliers from non-profit groups on the Community Bulletin Board at The service is free to local non-profit organizations.
