In Case of Bad Weather...

In anticipation of winter weather, Allen ISD has established school closing procedures in the event of dangerous conditions due to snow or ice. Under most circumstances, a decision to close or delay school due to bad weather is made by 6 a.m. or earlier.  If school is closed or delayed, the announcement will first be posted on the Allen ISD website at www.allenisd.org and on the district Facebook page. Cable Channel 98 will post the information. The major television and radio stations also will be notified. There is often a delay in posting information on the major television and radio stations due to large call volume so the web site will be the fastest source of information. Subscribers Fast Track also will receive an e-mail alert.  We ask that parents and students not call the school district or school offices about school closings early in the morning.

Deadline For Calendar Input Is Today

Today, December 2, is the last day to provide input on the proposed 2012-2013 school year District Calendar. The District Calendar Committee, which is composed of district parents, teachers and administrators serves as an ad hoc committee of the Allen ISD District Improvement and Planning Committee (DIPC). The Calendar Committee gathers community input regarding the academic calendar and recommends an academic calendar or calendars to the DIPC based on instructional soundness and feedback from the community.

The committee has provided three drafts for patrons to view and provide feedback by Dec. 2. The committee will review community feedback in January and present a recommendation to the Board for the January 23 meeting. Click here to view the calendar options.
