The interest in participating in Just.Good.Food., a mission effort of the synods of Lakes and Prairies, Lincoln Trails and Mid-America, continues to grow. Six states are now represented in a lengthening database. A curriculum -- an initial step in the project -- is under development. Some graphic-art materials, including the logo at right, have recently been completed. Project details can be found at "Hunger."  Commissioned Ruling Elder Continuing Education Offered by the Synod of Lincoln Trails

The final class in the Synod of Lincoln Trails 2012 preaching series is November 3, 2012. This is a continuing education class for commissioned ruling elders. The Rev. Dr. Laura Reason, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Highland, Ind. will lead participants through the sacred seasons of the liturgical year. Dr. Reason is an eight-time teacher of preaching and worship leadership to Synod of Lincoln Trails ruling elders.

Thus far, the presbytery and Board of Pensions education to congregations related to the Affordable Health Care Act has focused on the "Employer Healthcare Tax Credit" provision of the Act. However, as the dust continues to settle on this new legislation, along with congregations, we will need to continue to monitor Board of Pensions communications closely on this topic.
