Synod Commissioners Meet July 24

The third regular meeting of the synod for 2010 will be held on Saturday, July 24, at Philo (Ill.) Presbyterian Church.

Synod Seeks Stated Clerk Candidates

The synod is seeking candidates for the position of synod stated clerk, a part-time (20 hours per month) position. The stated clerk must be an elder or minister of word and sacrament and experienced in utilizing and interpreting the polity of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Responsibilities include serving as a member of the synod staff; attending all meetings of the synod, with responsibility for the minutes of each meeting; and providing support for the work of the synod's Permanent Judicial Committee. More information. Applications must be received by Sept. 15, 2010.

The Presbyterian Communicators' Network is presenting two regional conferences in October:

October 18-20, Crestfield Conference Center, Slippery Rock, Penn.

October 25-27, Zephyr Point Conference Center, Lake Tahoe, Nev.

Each conference will offer unique plenary speakers and workshops focusing on web-based media and resources for churches and middle-governing bodies.

Cost is $250, which includes room, board, speakers, and workshops. Online registration will soon be available on the PCN website.
