				| Continuing Education for Pastors of Small Churches Thanks to Good News from Great Rivers for pointing out these grants available from PC(USA): Boudinot Library FundProvides grants of $200 to small Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations to purchase books for the church library selected by the pastor, for the pastor's use.
Leadership Training ScholarshipProvides grants of $200 to pastors of small churches to use to attend training events.
 
Continuing Education GrantProvides grants of $1000-$1500 for the first three years of a Doctor of Ministry program.

				| 2010 GA Restricted Funds Available to Congregations, Presbyteries and SynodsPC(USA)'s General Assembly Mission Council has distributed information about this year's opportunity to apply for money available from unassigned General Assembly restricted funds. Application instructions may be viewed and downloaded from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Finance & Accounting website . Session applications must be forwarded to your presbytery by May 1, 2010, and forwarded to the synod with endorsement, if appropriate, by the presbytery by June 1, 2010. Approval at the presbytery or synod level is only another step in the process and does not guarantee approval by the Restricted Funds Oversight Subcommittee. Each presbytery can only forward ONE application per fund to the synod and each synod can, in most cases, send only ONE request per fund on to the committee. 				| News for Church Communicators "Plug In Without Shorting Out" at Des Moines Communication Conference The Presbytery of Des Moines is hosting "Plugging In Without Shorting Out" - a conference for communicators, April 16-18, in Des Moines, Iowa. Conference topics include using technology to help congregations communicate online, learning how to do more for less, using technology to reach youth, media and worship, the emerging church conversation, spiritual disciplines, and thinking outside of the box.  Interim Pastor Training
 
 May 3-7, St. Louis
 
 Pastors who are, or would like to become, interim ministers can receive specialized training at twice-yearly regional training weeks sponsored by the synods of Lincoln Trails and Mid-America. COM and presbytery staff will also find the training helpful.
 
 Basic interim ministry training consists of 60 contact hours in two weeklong sessions, divided by a practicum period. Training is held at the Mercy Center in St. Louis, Mo. Download a brochure.
