Synod CLP Training Program Registration Deadline is October 31
This two-year training program is for individuals seeking
to expand their service to the church and become commissioned lay
pastors.
A commissioned lay pastor is an elder of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), who is granted a commission by their presbytery to lead worship and preach the gospel, watch over the people, and provide for their nurture and service. The presbyteries and the synod recognize this as a way to
provide pastoral leadership to the congregations unable to secure full
time ordained staff.
The next series of classes begins in January 2010. Classes consist
of 12 contact hours each and are offered on twelve weekends during the two-year period.
Click to download more information and a registration form or contact Kristi Miller or Carol McDonald for more information.

Alternative Giving Opportunities
As many congregations prepare for the upcoming gift giving seasons of Advent and Christmas, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance asks that you consider a gift to help families recovering from disasters. For the past ten years, PDA has responded to requests from individuals and congregations for alternative giving and other special giving opportunities for this purpose.
This year's alternative giving brochure features opportunities to support PDA's response to international or national disasters, and an opportunity to offer your gift to be used where it is most needed.
Call PDS at call (800) 524-2612 to order the brochure (#25412-09-005) or download it from on the PDA website. Giving cards are also available to download and print.
