A Word From PC(USA) Leadership
GA Moderator and Stated Clerk Share Viewpoints
We Are Family
by the Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow, Moderator of the 218th General Assembly (2008) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
In just a few weeks since the end of the 218th General Assembly, it is safe to say that serving as moderator has already been an incredibly meaningful experience. What a privilege to be in a place to listen to the passionate voices of this community, our church family. Stated Clerk's Surgery is Successful
The Rev. Gradye Parsons, newly elected stated clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), underwent successful open heart surgery on Aug. 7 at the Cleveland (Ohio) Clinic. The surgery - to repair an aortic aneurysm that was first diagnosed several years ago but which had worsened in recent months - took five hours. Parsons was scheduled to remain hospitalized for five to seven days and then return to his home in Louisville to recuperate for the remainder of August. Messages can be sent to him by email.
