A Word from the Co-Exec
Advent greetings from the Synod of Lincoln Trails! Advent is an interesting season. It is the end of the calendar year but the beginning of the church calendar. At the end of this season we celebrate Christ's birth but during the season we anticipate Christ coming again. Advent is all about waiting but we start celebrating Christmastide before Advent begins. Sermons are about peace, hope, love and light but the nights are getting longer, depression is rampant and we are still at war.
Advent celebrates the in-between time and all of us are certainly in-between. We wish you a great church year and may you be on the tiptoe of expectation during this special time.

Bringing Hope...
This National Public Radio initiative was sponsored by the synod and its presbyteries between Sept. 3 and Dec. 2. The program has come to an end, but the entries for every hour of every day between those dates are still available on the Lincoln Trails website. This is a wonderful list of glimpses of mission happening around the world and in the churches of the Synod of Lincoln Trails which can still be used to bring hope and celebrate the hope we bring. Take a look at these and share them in your congregation.

 The synod is one of the sponsors of a national stewardship event for elders, pastors and presbytery stewardship committees on March 10-12, 2008 in Dallas, Texas.
Several people from our synod attended a similar event in Denver last year and gave it glowing reviews.
